Playgrounds Open

As of May 15th, our city playgrounds are now open!  Please read below and follow guidelines for the safety of you and others!

Summer Activites / Registration

With the uncertainty and evolving situation with COVID-19 we are further delaying registration for our Summer Programs – baseball, softball, tennis and playground.  We are very hopeful in being able to offer these activities this summer, but do not know what they may look like or activity dates that might work at this time.  We need as much information as possible from our state government, public health agencies and City Council to make informed decisions on what we may offer and how the programs will be setup.  By delaying the registration process our hope is to provide the most accurate information on programs offered, starting dates, activity times, etc.  We will keep updating as we gather information and move forward.

City Hall will be closed to the public starting at 12pm,  March 18, 2020 until further notice.  Employees are working remotely.  Citizens may email or call  with questions.

Recreation Facility Planning

Hello friends of Parks & Recreation,

In the coming weeks, we hope to stay engaged with each of you through our various web platforms and social media to provide updates, encourage fun activities for kids and families, and continue to seek feedback on our process of planning for future improvements to our Parks & Recreation facilities. We hope this social engagement can help provide a bit of fun and encouragement while we all work together to stay home, healthy, and safe.

Hopefully you’ve already engaged in some of the activities we’ve shared. In the coming weeks, you’ll see updates from us on our adjusted plans for Community Forums on the planning of improvements for our Recreation Facilities, and we hope you’ll all engage with us through our website and social media. To stay informed on all the Recreation Facility Planning we’ve done to date, visit

To keep our engagement moving, we’ve created a quick (less than 3 minute) survey asking for feedback on some of our plans for improvements at our Ice Arenas and Ball fields. Please consider taking a moment to complete the survey at this link: and give us your thoughts. Your feedback is important to us as we plan for the future of our Parks & Recreation facilities! Please consider giving us a few brief minutes of your time, and complete the survey by Friday, March 27th.
